Plug and Socket Details
Argentina plugs 10 Amp, which are used for applications of the Class I, are similar in appearance to the plugs in Australia or China, are however very different: the pins are longer, the body dimensions slightly different and most importantly, the wiring differs — the positions of phase (active) and neutral conductor are connected inversely. This pin configuration is also known as Plug Type I Also there is a 20 amp version which is used e.g. for air conditioners. The 20 amp version is not compatible to the plugs and sockets with rated current of 10 amp. The Argentina 3-pin 10 Amp plug also works with 10 Amp sockets in China and Australia or New Zealand but has different approvals. The 3-pin 20 Amp Argentina plug works with 16 Amp China socket also (or reverse), but please think about the different certifications.
